The SMS Diversity Committee aims to create opportunities to promote dialogue around racism, antisemitism and prejudice. As part of our Remembrance Day commemoration, the committee has invited a Holocaust Survivor to share their story with grades 6-8. This presentation will take place on November 1 and it will be streamed live within each classroom. Students will have an opportunity to meet a Holocaust survivor, listen to their testimony and ask questions. Education is the foundation of making a difference. In gaining a better understanding of the impact the Holocaust has had on previous generations, students can make connections with their own generation’s commitment to making present day changes in the name of equality and human rights.
